The services we perform vary from a wide range of furniture repair to special requests for custom woodworking projects.  Some examples: 

• The most common furniture repair would be tightening loose parts.  With a typical loose chair, we completely dismantle the chair, clean all joints of old glue and reassemble with fresh glue or epoxy.
• Replacing missing parts:  a common example would be missing stretchers or chair legs
• Duplicating parts or entire pieces:  copying a dining chair to create a complete set is very common.  Also adding missing or additional table leafs is a frequent request
• Chair caning:  we use prewoven cane that is put into the chair with a spline.  However, we will get a chair weaved for you but we sub contract it to an outside shop.  We do not add any additional cost over what the outside shop charges for this service
• Fiber Rush chair seats:
• Stripping.  We chemically strip using tanks.  The chemical we use is an 80% solution of methylene chloride in methanol.  If necessary, we will strip with an alkaline solution for those finishes that cannot be removed with methylene chloride.  An example would be pieces finished with milk paint.  We also use oxalic acid for restoring color after stripping and for removing staines such as black staines typically found on oak where water, iron and tannic acid within the wood react.
• Finishing:  Normally, our finish is polyurethane but we have used lacquers and conversion varnish.
• Mirror resilvering:  this is a service we use to perform but the volume of resilvering has not justified the expense of the chemicals so we also subcontract this work to an outside shop.  Again, we do not add any additional cost over that of the outside shop.
• Custom Woodwork:  This ranges from furniture in many styles to special requests for custom cabinets that you may need for a remodel that you would not be able to find anywhere else.  Our woodwork would also include handcrafted gift items such as jewelry boxes, wood toys, desk accessories, ect.
